Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 6, 2026

Maple-Crete Inc. ("Maple-Crete", "we") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and how long we keep it. It also explains the choices you have and how to reach us.

Who this policy covers

  • People who visit this website or contact us.
  • People who apply to work with us.
  • Our customers, suppliers and their contacts.
  • Our employees, drivers, operators and subcontractors, for the work they do with us.

What we collect

When you use this website

  • What you send us. If you use our contact form: your name, company, email address, phone number, the service you are asking about and your message.
  • Technical information. Our website host and security provider process your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of your request. This keeps the site running and protects it from abuse.
  • Spam protection. Our contact form uses a security check from our website host to tell people from automated programs.
  • Embedded map. Our Contact page shows a map from Google. Google may receive your IP address and set its own cookies when the map loads.

We do not use advertising trackers on this website.

When you apply to work with us

Your resume, contact details and anything else you choose to send us.

When you do business with us

Business contact details, and information about your project, contract or account.

When you work with us in the field

  • Identity and contact details. Your name, phone number, employee number and the vehicle and work assigned to you.
  • Work records. Shift start and end times, the work you are assigned, status updates, the times work was started and completed, and notes about that work.
  • Company vehicle and equipment data. Vehicles and equipment fitted with GPS and sensors report their location, the time, and equipment status such as ignition, and whether attachments and material spreaders are in use and at what rate. They report whenever the vehicle or equipment is running.
  • Mobile device location. If you use a mobile tool we provide for your work and allow your device to share its location, we collect its location, accuracy, direction of travel, speed and the time. We collect this only while you are signed on to a shift, you have marked yourself as working, and the tool is open on your device. We do not collect it when you are signed off or the tool is closed.
  • Reports and photos. Photos and descriptions you submit, such as a report of a hazard or a problem on site. These include your location and the time when you submit them, and that location and time may be stamped on the photo.
  • Device and activity information. Your IP address, browser and device type, and a record of sign-ins and actions taken in our tools.
  • Accounts. For staff with an account: username, email address, role and sign-in activity. Passwords are stored only in hashed form.
  • Messages. Phone numbers, email addresses and the content of work-related text messages and emails we send.

Why we collect it

  • To answer your questions and provide our services.
  • To assess job applications.
  • To plan, assign and coordinate work.
  • To record and verify the work we perform, and to meet our contract, regulatory, insurance and legal obligations.
  • To keep people, vehicles and worksites safe, and to respond to hazards, incidents and complaints.
  • To improve how we operate, and to keep our systems secure.

Your choices and consent

We collect personal information with your knowledge and consent, or where the law allows or requires it. You can choose not to send us information through this website, although we may then be unable to respond to you.

You can turn off location sharing for a mobile tool at any time in your device or browser settings. Some features will not work without it. Company vehicles and equipment keep reporting as described above, because that information is part of our operating records.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only as follows:

  • Service providers who work for us under our direction: website and application hosting, databases, security, vehicle tracking, mapping and address lookup, text messaging, email and document storage.
  • Customers and public authorities, where a contract or the law requires us to provide records of the work performed. These records can include who performed the work and when.
  • Insurers, professional advisors and regulators, where needed to manage claims, get advice or meet a legal requirement.
  • Anyone else the law requires, for example under a court order or to respond to an emergency.

Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it is subject to the laws of that country.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as a contract or the law requires. After that we delete it or remove what identifies you. As a guide:

  • Mobile device location history: up to 14 days.
  • Sign-in and activity logs: about 30 days.
  • Detailed vehicle and equipment history held in our systems: up to about 13 months.
  • Work records, reports and photos: as long as our contract, insurance and legal obligations require.
  • Enquiries and job applications: as long as needed to deal with them and any follow-up. You can ask us to remove them sooner.

How we protect it

We use safeguards suited to the sensitivity of the information. These include encrypted connections, access limited by role, and hashed passwords. No system is completely secure, so if we learn of a breach that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent, subject to legal and contractual limits. To do this, contact our Privacy Officer using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will answer within the time the law allows.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices change. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
